Lovely detailed Hei Tiki made from stunning Inanga Pounamu. Hand carved locally by Raniera Watson.

Measurements:

57 mm width

11 mm depth

Raniera Watson of Ngāti Tūwharetoa is a Māori carver and artist from Aotearoa, creating handmade taonga inspired by whakapapa, tikanga Māori, and traditional designs. His work includes hei tiki, pounamu-style carvings, and contemporary Māori art that reflects both cultural identity and creativity. Raniera is also studying Māori law, further strengthening the cultural foundations behind his work.

Passed through generations, the Hei Tiki is more than an ornament - it embodies ancestral connection, and symbolises fertility, prosperity, and protection. Believed to bestow strength of character, it guides the wearer towards loyalty, clarity, and keen perception. Often carved with its tongue protruding, the Tiki wards off negativity, serving as both a spiritual guardian and a beacon of good fortune.

The sacred stone of Aotearoa. Pounamu of this beautiful land encompasses nephrite jade, serpentine, and tangiwai (bowenite). To the Māori of New Zealand, Pounamu (greenstone) is more than just a stone, it is a taonga (treasure) woven into the spiritual and cultural fabric of their ancestors. Revered as a gift from the gods, it carries the mana (prestige) of the land and the strength of the rivers.

When worn close to the skin it absorbs your wairua (spirit); over time its lustre deepens along with the bond between wearer and stone. Pounamu is a gift from the heart and as such should be worn or displayed with respect and pride.

comes with anĀ adjustable cordĀ and a jute drawstring bag.
